Lysimachia atropurpurea ‘Beaujolais’

Lysimachia atropurpurea ‘Beaujolais’
Height: 24"
Light: Full Sun-Part Shade
Flowering Time: Mid Summer
Zone: 4-9

This is a biennial or short-lived perennial just recently introduced
to gardens. Flowers are similar to the white Gooseneck Loosestrife
(Lysimachia clethroides) but in a rich burgundy-purple shade with
contrasting grey-green leaves. Blooms appear in midsummer. Appreciates
even moisture but adapts well to average border conditions. Plants do
not spread at the root or become invasive, though they may self seed
a little. Should not be confused with the noxious weed Purple
Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria). Wonderful for cutting. Attractive to
$4 pot
