Hibiscus/Southern Belle Red

Hibiscus/Southern Belle Red
Light: Full-Part Sun
Flowering Time: Summer-Fall

Southern Belle sports giant, 10-11 inch silky blooms in a glorious shade of red on bushy 4-5 foot plants. If started early in spring, this variety will produce blooms the first year beginning in mid-summer and continue until frost. Hardy in zones 5-10, hibiscus performs well in heat and humidity, and full to part sun. Make sure to thoroughly water plant in fall to prepare for over-wintering. Cut back to the ground once the foliage has completely died in the fall, or early spring before they emerge. One of the last perennials to emerge in the spring as warm soil temperatures are needed, could be as late as mid-June, so give it lots of time.
